Bill Martin, PA, Urgent Care

Prior to joining Haskell County Healthcare System as the primary provider for Stigler Urgent Care in 2009, Bill Martin worked in Emergency Medicine at Community Hospital Lakeview in Eufaula, Oklahoma.

While working with Osteopathic Physicians of Tulsa, Mr. Martin managed the primary care needs of his patients, including but not limited to hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular and nephrology problems. At the Veteran’s Administration Outpatient Clinic, also in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he worked both within the Urgent Care and their Red Team.

During the time Mr. Martin was at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital, he worked in the Rural Health Clinic and Emergency Room. In November, 1994, he assumed the responsibility for administration of the Rural Health Clinic. His responsibilities included managing trauma triage and EMSA regulations, as well as being responsible for JACHO accreditation of the Emergency Room. In 1996, Mr. Martin became the manager of the Fast Track Emergency Room for Okmulgee Memorial Hospital.

In 1977, Mr. Martin opened the first osteopathic dialysis center in the nation at Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital. He was responsible for peritoneal and hemodialysis as well as the CAPD programs until 1994. While at the Dialysis Tech School for Cleveland Clinic, Mr. Martin was under the supervision of Dr. Wilhelm Kolpff, MD, who is credited with the development of the first dialysis machine, and the first dialysis procedures. From 1973 through 1977, Mr. Martin managed peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis units and worked at The Hypertension Clinic.

Mr. Martin has been a Physician Assistant since 1975.
